Xiaomi's 12S series is expected to debut later this year. The lineup will consist of the company's most recent flagship smartphones. However, the series' base variant has been discovered on a benchmarking platform ahead of any official announcements.

The 12S from the Chinese tech giant was discovered on GeekBench, a popular benchmarking app. Its appearance comes just a few days after the higher-end 12S Pro model was discovered on the 3C certification website. The 12S has now been added to the GeekBench database, with the model number 2206123SC. According to the listing, the device will have an octa core processor with four cores clocked at 2.02GHz, three cores clocked at 2.75GHz, and one super core clocked at 3.19GHz.

In other words, the chipset in question is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which will almost certainly be paired with the Adreno 730 GPU. In addition, the GeekBench database lists that smartphone as having 12GB of RAM, though it is likely to come in a variety of RAM and internal storage configurations. The Xiaomi 12S will come pre-installed with the MIUI 13 custom skin based on Android 12 OS, and it scored 1328 points in single core and 4234 points in multi core GeekBench tests.

According to a previous sighting on 3C, the Xiaomi 12S will come with 67W fast charging support as well. This is similar to the 12S Pro, which is a higher-end model. A 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50 megapixel primary camera on the back, and possibly Leica-branded lenses for the rear cameras are also expected. This device will most likely be released in China first, followed by the rest of the world.
