The Pixel 7 series from Google is set to ship in October. Prototypes of the phones have already been leaked online in live photos and videos ahead of the debut. Additionally, it was announced that future Pixel phones will have the same display as their predecessors. Now, a developer has disclosed through Twitter that he was able to access a hidden Android 13 screen resolution setting by using the Pixel 7 Pro's display drivers on a Pixel 6 Pro.

The Pixel 6 Pro's screen resolution may be increased to 1080p using the Pixel 7 Pro's display driver, as seen in the video. This backs up claims that the Pixel 7 series will have the same display as the Pixel 6. It also suggests that the Pixel 7 Pro's display will be 1440p, with the option to switch to 1080p. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, does not have this capability, although it's conceivable that Google may include it with the Android 13 Update.

It's a true resolution with exact timings established in the driver, according to the developer, and it supports 1080p30Hz in addition to 1080p.

While gaming, adjusting the resolution might be beneficial. Furthermore, rendering fewer pixels uses less CPU/GPU power, extending battery life. Although the aesthetic difference between 1080p and 1440p is little, the graphic performance of the 1440p resolution is significantly superior.

We already know that the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be powered by Samsung's next-generation Tensor 2. The Pixel 7 series appears to feature a similar look to the Pixel 6, with the same visor-like camera module and a triple camera arrangement on the Pixel 7 Pro. Both devices will most likely come pre-installed with Android 13.

The cellphones' other hardware characteristics are yet to be revealed. Given the volume of leaks, we'll learn a lot more about both phones shortly.
