Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy A72 will receive an Android security update in June 2022, according to reports

According to several sources, the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy A72 Android update for June 2022 is currently rolling out in specific areas. While owners of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra in select European areas, including as Switzerland, are receiving the update, users of the Galaxy A72 in Malaysia are receiving the updated software. Samsung has improved their game by releasing software upgrades on a regular basis. Last week, it began rolling out June Android upgrades for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series.


Samsung claims that the monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) procedure includes updates from Google and Samsung in the maintenance release for important flagship models.

According to SamMobile, the June 2022 update with firmware version number G98xxXXSEFVE6 will be available for both LTE and 5G varieties of the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. The Galaxy S20 FE was left out, although it is expected to join the rest of the series in the near future. The newest security patches for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and QR scanner capabilities are included in the update. There were five serious vulnerabilities addressed, as well as 60 other vulnerabilities of different severity. The phones don't have any new features or upgrades that aren't connected to security.

SamMobile has also reported on the development of the Galaxy A72 June 2022 upgrade. The security patch resolves over 66 vulnerabilities linked to user privacy and data security, and it comes with firmware version A725FXXU4BVE3. It also includes bug fixes and enhancements to device stability.
