CAD renderings of the new Samsung Galaxy A23 5G surfaced online earlier this year, revealing its appearance and specifications. Now that the device has surfaced on Geekbench's website, important specifications are available.
The smartphone is listed as having the model number "SM-A236U." It has an octa-core chipset with six 1.8GHz performance cores and two 2.21GHz performance cores. It is rather obvious that the chipset is the Snapdragon 695 SoC because it is paired with the Adreno 619 GPU.
Other than that, the device has 4GB of RAM and runs One UI 4.1, which is based on Android 12. In terms of benchmark results, the gadget achieves a score of 674 in the Geekbench 5 single-core test and 2019 in the multi-core test.
OnLeaks, a reputable leaker, previously provided renderings of the Galaxy A23 5G that showed the device will have a waterdrop notch for the front camera and large bezels surrounding the screen. On the back, it will resemble the Galaxy A32, A52, and A72 from the previous year and most likely have a quad-camera configuration.
The phone's bottom will contain a 3.5mm audio socket, a microphone, a USB-C connector, and a speaker grille. The right side will have a volume rocker and a power key that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Without the camera bump, the device will be about 165.4 x 77 x 8.5mm in size.
