As the calendar turns to June, it's that time of year again! Apple's developer conference begins on Monday, and we've already seen a flurry of last-minute rumours, despite the fact that much of what to expect is still unknown.

This week, we heard reports regarding some of the changes coming in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, as well as news about the iPhone 14 lineup that we won't see until September, so keep reading for all the details from the week leading up to WWDC!

Expect iOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and even new Macs at WWDC 2022.

Finally, the wait is almost over! Apple's annual developers conference, WWDC, kicks off Monday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time with Apple's opening keynote, and while software is generally the centre of the event, there is always the possibility of a hardware announcement or two.

We've compiled a list of everything we expect to see at Monday's keynote, including some late-breaking news highlighted below.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple planned to showcase a new MacBook Air featuring an M2 chip at WWDC this year, but the event may be postponed due to Chinese manufacturing lockdowns. Gurman, on the other hand, believes that a comprehensive demonstration of Apple's long-rumored AR/VR headset at the event is doubtful.

At WWDC, expect iOS 16 lock screen improvements, redesigned Mac apps, and more.

Other WWDC predictions, according to Bloomberg, include "significant enhancements" to the iPhone's lock screen in iOS 16, such as wallpapers with widget-like functionality, as well as overhauled Mac programmes and more.

System Preferences is rumoured to be one of the built-in programmes on macOS 13 that will be redesigned to look more like the Settings app on the iPhone and iPad.

With iPadOS 16 Multitasking Changes, Apple aims to make the iPad more Mac-like.

According to yet another tip from Gurman, iPadOS 16 will include a revamped multitasking interface as well as the option to resize app windows on the screen.

The multitasking enhancements should provide iPad users a more Mac-like experience, which is something that many power users have requested. The extent of the adjustments, though, remains to be seen.

Animated AR Trading Cards are featured on Apple's WWDC 2022 event page.

WWDC 2022 was added to Apple's events website this week, and there's a delightful augmented reality easter egg if you visit the page on an iPhone or iPad.

Apple has designed a set of trading cards that can be viewed in augmented reality at WWDC 2022, including a rare Craig Federighi card. You may tap the pack of cards to open it up and reveal an assortment of colourful Memoji faces once it's been placed on a surface utilising the AR interface.

The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to include an Always-On Display Mode.

According to reports, iOS 16 will feature a future always-on display mode on iPhones. When the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are released later this year, this feature may be limited to them.

To save battery life, an always-on display mode might result in iPhone 14 Pro models continually displaying glanceable information like as the time, with the refresh rate decreasing to as low as 1Hz.

The iPhone 14 is expected to launch with a 6GB RAM upgrade.

According to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, all four iPhone 14 versions debuting later this year will have 6GB of RAM.

Purple Is Featured in the iPhone 14 Pro Lineup

According to TrendForce, iPhone 14 Pro models will be updated to LPDDR5, a quicker and more power efficient type of RAM, while normal iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models will likely continue with LPDDR4X like the iPhone 13 series.
