Today saw the launch of the Poco X4 GT smartphone, which is now in line for review. But first, we wanted to share our initial thoughts on the phone.

The Dimensity 8100 chipset and a 144Hz screen are the only differences between this gadget and the Redmi Note 11T Pro in China. Though it joins the fiercely competitive sub-€400 price range, it will need to genuinely wow with its performance to have a serious chance of making an impact.

The colour of our unit is a subdued Gray. Although the sides are flat, which is a nice feature, the 2.5D curved screen and back panel make the phone feel oddly hefty in the palm. The actual display is a 6.6-inch LCD with three distinct refresh rates—60, 90, and 144—but no 120 Hz option.

Throughout our extensive analysis, we will go further to learn more about how each mode functions in various apps. A very ordinary 16MP camera can fit through the panel's single punch hole..

We'll take our time evaluating the Dimensity 8100, one of the few phones featuring this processor and unquestionably the one with the most availability.

The 64MP primary camera and 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera are mounted on the rear with two large lenses aligned vertically, while the 2MP macro camera is off to the side.

Even though the retail packaging just contains the 67W charger and a USB cord, we like that there is a 3.5 mm audio port on top.

The Community and Store applications are already installed, and Poco Launcher 2.0 is running, yet the About page lists MIUI 13 as the operating system. Additionally, it comes pre-installed with Android 12 which is great.

Although the Poco X4 GT is up against stiff competition, we are optimistic. Stay tuned for our comprehensive evaluation, where we'll reveal the result!
