Oppo has been performing well with software updates. The company has rolled out Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta updates for most of its eligible devices, and it has now revealed that it will be releasing a stable ColorOS 12 update for the Oppo A76. The smartphone was introduced back in March and comes pre-installed with Android 11.
The stable ColorOS 12 update with Android 12 is currently rolling out to the OPPO A76 in India, according to a recent announcement post on the OPPO Community. Soon, the update will spread to other areas. You should soon receive an OTA notification if you own an Oppo A76.
As per usual, the update is being rolled out in phases, so it might take a few days for everyone to receive it. Only India has received the update as of right now, but OPPO claims it will soon extend the rollout to other countries.
Users should be on the lookout for a tonne of exciting features and changes after installing the ColorOS 12 update. A new wallpaper-based theming system, Screen Translate, Canvas AOD, Android 12's Privacy Dashboard, and privacy indicators are just a few of the features included in the update.
By going to Settings > Software Update and tapping on the gear icon in the top right corner, owners of the Oppo A76 can download the ColorOS 12 update. You will get the new software as an OTA update after the application is approved.
Oppo revised its software update policy back in 2021. The Oppo A-series of smartphones will only receive one significant Android update under the new policy. Therefore, the Oppo A76's first and last Android update is ColorOS 12. The phone will nevertheless continue to get security updates for another three years.
