The Black Shark 5 series was released in China in March 2022. Its global release, on the other hand, is just around the corner. However, the two models were mentioned on the NBTC certification website before to their release outside of China.

Both the standard model and the Pro version are listed on the NBTC website in Thailand. The vanilla model is designated as SHARK PAR-HOTH, while the top-end variant is designated as SHARK KTUS-HO. It's hardly unexpected that they've shown in an online database, given that the worldwide launch is slated for June 8. Both variants of the next gaming smartphones include a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 1300 nits of peak brightness, DC Dimming, HDR10+, 144Hz refresh rate, and 720 Hz touch sampling rate.

The smartphones also include a dual-zone pressure-sensitive panel on the front, and are primarily designed to enhance mobile gaming. The Black Shark 5 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, whereas the vanilla version has a Snapdragon 870 processor. The two phones also include a VC cooling system to regulate thermals and specific trigger buttons to aid in games, thanks to their robust internal hardware and gaming specialisation.

A triple camera configuration on the rear of the 5 Pro has a 108 megapixel main sensor, a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 5 megapixel telephoto lens. The standard model, on the other hand, features a 64-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Both phones, however, include a 16 megapixel front-facing camera. These phones are powered by a 4,650mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging and come pre-installed with JoyUI 13 based on Android 12.
