The Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 beta build for the OnePlus 9RT smartphone, which was released in February of this year, has finally begun to be distributed by OnePlus. With Android 11, the device made its debut. Notably, other OnePlus 9 series smartphones already had the stable OxygenOS 12 update by December 2021.
The first OxygenOS 12 Open Beta update for the OnePlus 9RT is now available to download, according to a recent post by OnePlus in the Community forums. Please keep in mind that this software is in beta and is not as reliable as the official OTAs. You won't be able to switch to the Stable OTA release if you decide to install the Beta update.
For the OnePlus 9RT and a number of other phones in China, OnePlus also started its Android 12-based ColorOS 12 beta programme last week. For those who don't know, in 2021 Oneplus will use Oppo's ColorOS on its smartphones in China. The company has stopped working on HydrogenOS. Furthermore, the global OxygenOS is essentially a modified version of ColorOS.
Click here if you have an eligible device and want to try out OxygenOS 12. Make sure your smartphone has at least a 30% battery and 4GB of storage space before installing the update. Also take note that the update will only be available for OxygenOS 11 A.08 devices.
