While LG has officially quit the smartphone market, it appears that it continues to operate in the smartphone industry in general. The company's batteries are expected to be included in the Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones.

According to TheElec, LG battery packs would be used in the Galaxy A affordable and Galaxy M mid-range devices from the South Korean tech titan. It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Samsung has utilised components from its old South Korean competitor; the company's high-end Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series phones both employ LG batteries. LG now looks to be preparing to expand its partnership with Samsung by producing batteries for the company's more cheap smartphone models.

The new batteries will be manufactured at LG Energy Solution's Nanjing factory and transferred to ITM Semiconductor's local plant in Vietnam, according to the newspaper. The batteries will then be packed and sent to a Samsung smartphone manufacturing facility. According to the article, an industry official indicated that ITM Semiconductor most certainly gave its services at a low price. To put it another way, Samsung did not seek out LG Energy Solution to supply batteries for its next Galaxy A and Galaxy M smartphone series.
