We shared some leaked renders of the OnePlus 10T earlier today. The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed something missing: the OnePlus alert slider, a feature that the company first introduced to Android and has since become ubiquitous. We say "in the Android world" because Apple, of course, had a slider like this long before OnePlus.
In any case, the alert slider has long been a feature of OnePlus phones, and it was sorely missed when the company expanded to include entry-level phones rebranded as Oppos. Because the Nord N models were originally designed as Oppos, the lack of an alert slider was understandable.
What about the OnePlus 10T, though? According to prolific leakster Yogesh Brar on Twitter, it will start a new trend: only the OnePlus Pro flagships will feature an alert slider from now on. It will no longer be available on non-Pro OnePlus high-end phones, as well as any upcoming Nords.
To add insult to injury, it appears that some future Oppo flagships will include an alert slider, a feature "borrowed" from the sister brand. Given the recent uproar over the merger of OxygenOS and ColorOS, we're not sure how well diehard OnePlus fans will take this.
At this point, it's worth noting that this is just a rumour; OnePlus has yet to confirm it.
