POCO announced the new Head for the Indian market earlier today (6th June 2022). Himanshu Tandon has been named as the POCO India Head, as part of the company's expansion goals in the area.
"Strengthening Poco's vision in the nation, Himanshu has been a part of the founding team of POCO in India and has helped scale the brand over the years," the Chinese smartphone maker said in a statement released through Twitter. Surprisingly, this announcement comes just after Xiaomi India moved its top executives in the area, with Alvin Tse now serving as the region's General Manager.
In addition, the brand stated that its service centre and after-sales assistance will be growing in India. More than 2,000 service centres will be opened around the country. It also stated that the corporation will make a statement at 4 p.m. IST later today. While it's unclear what this announcement is for, it's likely connected to the POCO C40, a new entry-level inexpensive smartphone.
