On July 5, ASUS will unveil the ROG Phone 6 series in Taiwan, China, and the United States. It'll be one of the first phones to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Two ROG Phone 6 variants have surfaced in China's 3C certification platform's database ahead of the launch (via).
Tipster Paras Guglani had evidence of ASUS developing firmware for the ROG Phone 6 series at the start of this year. The ASUS AI2201 A, AI2201 B, AI2201 C, AI2201 D, AI2201 E, and AI2201 F models were discovered to be in development by the Taiwanese company. The AI2201 B and AI2201 D variants, according to the tip, may be headed to India.
Returning to the 3C certification, the AI2201 A and AI2201 B variants of the ROG Phone 6 have been approved. Both devices will come with a 65W charger, according to the 3C listing.
The ROG Phone 5 series and ROG Phone 5s lineups, both of which debuted in 2021, support 65W fast charging. As a result, the ROG Phone 6 line appears to be no better at charging than its predecessor.
ASUS has already confirmed that the display on the ROG Phone 6 series will support a 165Hz refresh rate. The rest of the lineup's details have yet to be confirmed by the Taiwanese manufacturer. The alleged 2D renders of the ROG Phone 6 / 6 Pro that surfaced at the start of this year revealed that these could come with some design changes. In the coming days, it appears that the A2201 A and A2201 B models will appear in TENAA's database with images and specifications.
