In September of this year, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 14 device line. The vanilla iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the iPhone 14 Max are said to be part of the 14 series. This time around, the Pro and Pro Max models are expected to include a new pill + punch-hole cutout for the front camera as well as a large 48-megapixel primary camera sensor.
According to a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new iPhones will also receive improvements to their front cameras. According to the analyst, auto-focus support will be available on all iPhone 14 devices. In comparison to previous/current iPhones with fixed-focus, this will result in sharper photos and videos.
That's not all; according to Kuo, the next iPhones will have a 6P lens setup for the front camera, as well as a larger f/1.9 aperture. 6P indicates that the camera's lens will be divided into six pieces to reduce light distortion. The f/1.9 aperture, which is significantly larger than the current f/2.2 aperture on the iPhone 13 series, will allow more light into the camera. As a result, images and videos will be sharper and brighter.
With all of the changes coming to the front camera, the iPhone 14 series, which is expected to debut in September 2022, can expect significant quality improvements.
