HIGHLIGHTS
In the second half of 2022, Apple is likely to release new earphones.
Skin-detect sensors were initially introduced by Apple in AirPods (3rd Generation)
The current version of AirPods Pro may be phased out by Apple.
According to a rumour, Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Version) would have a design identical to the current generation AirPods. The rumoured AirPods were previously supposed to sport a stemless design, but those rumours have been debunked for the time being. The wireless earbuds are also rumoured to have skin-detect sensors, which were initially introduced in the AirPods (3rd Generation), to determine whether the earphones are in the user's ears or not. Instead, the new AirPods Pro have two optical sensors that can't identify skin particularly.
New to-scale 3D pictures of the speculated Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Genration) from Apple concept graphic artist Ian Zelbo have been seen, according to a report from MacRumors, and they reveal a design identical to the current generation Apple AirPods Pro. The photographs appear to refute previous rumours about the AirPods Pro (2nd Genration), indicating that the earbuds would not have a stemless design.
According to a previous report, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the AirPods Pro (2nd Genration) will be released in the second half of 2022. Due to much weaker than the previous generation headphones, Apple has decreased orders for its AirPods (3rd Generation) by more than 30% for the second and third quarters of 2022, according to Kuo. He also mentioned that following the debut of AirPods Pro, Apple is anticipated to retire the current model AirPods Pro (2nd Genration).
