Samsung Electronics has reportedly come under fire from an Apple executive for stealing their technology. According to the official, the latter has essentially stolen its iPhone in order to use it for its smartphones.

Joanna Stern of the Wall Street Journal broke the news by sharing a new documentary (Via MacRumors). This documentary, which discusses the evolution of the Cupertino-based company's iPhone, is released in advance of the iPhone's 15th anniversary. Greg Joswiak, the head of marketing at Apple, Tony Fadell, the co-creator of the iPhone, and a family of iPhone users are all interviewed on camera for the documentary. A brief mention of Android smartphones having larger displays a year before Apple appears in one section of the interview.

Additionally, Joswiak was questioned regarding his thoughts on the market effects of Samsung and other Android smartphone manufacturers. Joswiak responded by calling them "annoying" and accusing them of clumsily ripping off Apple's technological innovations. He stated that “They were annoying. They were also annoying because, as you are aware, they stole our technological innovations. They copied one of our innovations poorly and then simply surrounded it with a larger screen. So, yes, we weren't too happy.

The South Korean company had previously introduced its 5 inch flagship model, the Galaxy S4, in 2013. The iPhone 5, which was a direct competitor at the time and only had a 4 inch display, came out around the same time. The market soon saw the release of iPhones with bigger displays. However, Samsung was also sued by Apple for patent infringement because its Galaxy series of smartphones copied the design of the iPhone.
