1.5TB-capable microSD card from Micron is the greatest capacity available

Memory cards used to have capacity measured in megabytes rather than gigabytes back when cellphones were still gaining popularity. This number has surpassed the terabyte threshold in the contemporary market as well, but it appears that Micron wants to push the limit even farther.

The business just unveiled the largest microSD card in the world, with a staggering 1.5TB of storage. This is made possible by the new i400 microSD card from the manufacturer, which has a maximum storage capacity of up to 1.5TB. This is a tremendous amount of extra storage for electronic devices that enable memory extension via a microSD card slot.

There are a lot of different uses despite the fact that it is still regrettable that the majority of new smartphones do not support this technology. Utilizing 176 layer 3D NAND technology—the same technology seen in SSDs—Micron was able to set a new record for capacity. To put it another way, it simply implies that memory cells are arranged in a 3D layout on top of one another.

This suggests, however, that the new memory card would probably start off with a somewhat high price tag, which is common for most new technologies that set records. But this also implies that the 1TB devices from the previous generation will soon be more reasonably priced.
