Xiaomi phones are slowing down, and consumers want your help!

It has been proven to intentionally slow down Xiaomi Snapdragon 865 and 870 devices.

A Mi 10T user on the Xiaomi China Forum discovered that, despite the phone having LPDDR5 RAM, the benchmark test results showed LPDDR4 RAM speeds. According to our observations, this RAM issue affects all Snapdragon 865 devices, not only the Mi 10T.

RAM speeds of up to 4 GBPS are possible with LPDDR5 RAM. When RAM achieves these rates, you can regulate background processes more quickly. Better performance comes from being able to control more quickly. However, a Mi User found that on the Mi 10T gadget with LPDDR5 RAM technology, it gives slower speeds. These findings show speeds of 1.5 GBPS when they should be 4 GBPS. There is a 2.5-fold difference between them.

Mi 10T Benchmark Results

Mi 10T benchmark results were reported by Xiaomi community member tryigitx. Many customers have complained about the same RAM speed issue. The Redmi K20 Benchmark results were shared by another Redmi user. The Redmi K20 achieves 2.9GBPS in the shared benchmark results. This revealed that the Mi 10T's RAM speed was slower than the Mi 9T's LPDDR4X. As a result of his investigation, the same user discovered that the RAM speed was limited by the kernel. Xiaomi has reduced the RAM value to DDR11, which should typically be DDR13.
