The InkPalm Plus eBook reader, an upgrade to last year's InkPalm 5, has been released by Xiaomi's eco-chain company Moaan. It is powered by the Rockchip RK3566 processor and has a 5.84-inch screen. For optimal reading, the new eBook reader has a 2:1 aspect ratio and a front-lit E-ink display. For 1,099 yuan ($164), the Moaan InkPalm Plus is now available for pre-order on Jingdong (JD.com) in China.
The InkPalm Plus's 5.84-inch front-lit display has 24 brightness levels. It also allows you to change the colour temperature. It runs on the Android 11 operating system and is compatible with a wide range of file formats. Many third-party Android apps, including eReader apps, are also supported by the InkPalm Plus. The Xiaomi InkPalm Plus eReader has a 2,200mAh battery that can last up to 30 days. Using a 5V charger, the battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours.
The InkPalm Plus has a Rockchip RK3566 processor with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. While the InkPalm Plus is an improvement over its predecessor in terms of speed and storage capacity, it still falls short. Despite the fact that there are many smaller eReaders on the market, the InkPalm Plus may still appeal to a segment of the market. It's a little thinner, lighter, and more portable than some Amazon Kindle entry-level models. The InkPalm Plus weighs only 0.14kg and has Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity.
At this time, the Xiaomi InkPalm Plus is only available for pre-order in China. It's possible that global availability will come later. It should be noted, however, that it may come with the Chinese version of the Android 11 interface, which can be easily switched to English. This was also the case with the InkPalm 5, though this time Xiaomi was able to provide a direct English version.
