WhatsApp has begun to push out emoji replies to all users, competing with Telegram, Apple's iMessage, and Slack, and comparable to WhatsApp's sibling network Instagram. The option to use emoticons to respond to individual and group conversations on the app was introduced last month and has been in development for some time. Along with the replies, WhatsApp is expanding the capacity limit for sharing files from 100MB to up to 2GB. Meta's instant messaging service is also progressively increasing the group size limit to 512 members, up from 256.

WhatsApp's newest version now includes emoji replies, the messaging service announced in a blog post. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, anticipated the release of reactions via an Instagram story on Thursday.

The goal of reactions is to allow users to swiftly express their sentiments and emotions in response to specific messages they receive from individuals and in group conversations without having to provide text answers.

To add a reaction, long press on the message to which you wish to respond and then tap to pick the emoji presented. The sender of the communication being replied to will be notified when you respond to their message.

According to the details available on an FAQ page, you can only add one reaction per message. This implies you can't utilize several reactions on the same message. You may, however, modify your reaction by long pressing on a message to which you reacted and then tapping a different emoji.



You can also unsubscribe from your message reaction. To do so, long touch the message you reacted to, then tap the emoji you reacted with to erase it.
