Vivo X80 Series India Launch Set for May 18: Price and Specifications

The Chinese manufacturer revealed on Tuesday that the Vivo X80 series will be available in India on May 18. Last month, the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro were released in China for the first time. The Vivo X80 Pro was available in two variants: one with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and the company has announced that the latter would be available in India. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC was used in the Vivo X80, on the other hand.

Vivo X80 series India launch details


The Vivo X80 series will be launched in India on May 18 at 12pm (noon), according to a press invite. Flipkart has also set up a special page on its website to promote the launch. The debut date of May 18 has already been rumored.

Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro price in India (expected)


The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro prices in India have yet to be officially confirmed, although both phones are expected to be in the premium bracket. The Vivo X80 was released in China at a beginning price of CNY 3,699 (about Rs. 42,600) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, while the Vivo X80 Pro debuted at a starting price of CNY 5,499 (approximately Rs. 63,300) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration.

On Sunday, the Vivo X80 series was also released in Malaysia. The Vivo X80 was priced at MYR 3,499 (about Rs. 61,800) in Malaysia, and the Vivo X80 Pro was priced at MYR 4,999. (roughly Rs. 88,300). Both phones were initially available in a single 12GB + 256GB option. The Malaysian Vivo X80 Pro was also released.

Vivo X80 specifications


The Vivo X80 runs Android 12 and has a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM. The phone has a triple back camera configuration with a 50-megapixel main Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor. In addition, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front.

The Vivo X80 supports UFS 3.1 storage of up to 512GB. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, an infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for communication. The device also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Vivo X80 Pro specifications


The Vivo X80 Pro, which also runs Android 12, has a 6.78-inch 2K (1,440x3,200 pixels) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 are available in China, while the former SoC will be available in India, according to the company's webpage. The Snapdragon model features 8GB and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM choices, whilst the Dimensity variant comes equipped with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The phone contains a 50-megapixel main Samsung ISOCELL GNV sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX598 sensor with a portrait lens, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor with a portrait lens, and an 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope-shaped ultra-telephoto f/3.4 lens.

The Vivo X80 is ideal for selfies and video calls. The Vivo X80 Pro supports UFS 3.1 storage of up to 512GB. It offers nearly the same set of connection choices as the Vivo X80. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,700mAh battery with compatibility for both 80W Flash Charge rapid wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
