We'll begin with the Oppo Reno8 Pro+, which is the most impressive of the three models. It comes with a Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. This is going to be a lightning fast phone. The custom MariSilicon X chip aids the Dimensity by performing AI-based processing on photos and videos captured by the 50MP IMX766 sensor (1/1.56"). Can Qualcomm's new mid-range offering stand up to MediaTek's Dimensity 8000 line? The Oppo Reno8 Pro chose the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 – can Qualcomm's new mid-range offering stand up to MediaTek's Dimensity 8000 line? We're interested to learn more. This phone has a 6.62" AMOLED display that runs at 120Hz but is slightly smaller. The phone's body, on the other hand, has essentially the same overall dimensions. The Oppo Reno8 isn't much more compact, with differences measured in millimetres. It does have the tiniest screen, at 6.43", and runs at 90Hz. This one is powered by the Dimensity 1300 chipset, which is an updated version of the 1200. The camera setup is similar to the other two, though there is no 8MP ultra wide camera or MariSilicon's extra power. In China, the Reno8 Pro+ and vanilla Reno8 will go on sale on June 1 (Wednesday), while the Reno8 Pro will have to wait until June 11. Let's take a look at the pricing now: We don't have global pricing or a release date for the Reno8 series yet. There is a model called "Reno8 Lite," but we believe it is a rebranded Reno7 Lite and not a true member of the new series. When it came to the Reno7 series, there was no Pro+ model (yet). In addition, the Reno7 Pro display was set to 90Hz. Aside from that, the old and new Pros are nearly identical. Of course, the older model is cheaper (37,750 on Amazon.in), but is that enough to justify foregoing the better screen and new chipset? The Dimensity 8100-Max chipset is used by the OnePlus 10R, Ace, and Ace Racing Edition. If you want the 5,000mAh/80W version of the 10R, it'll set you back $39,000. The screen and cameras are comparable to those of the Reno8 Pro+. The Racing Edition drops the price to CNY 2,000 and replaces the AMOLED display with a 6.59" IPS LCD. To put things in perspective, the regular Ace (on which the 10R is based) costs CNY 2,500. The OnePlus Nord 2T and vivo T2x, both powered by the Dimensity 1300, are also available. The Nord has the same 6.43" 90Hz AMOLED display as the Reno8 and retains the 8MP ultra wide camera. The vivo, on the other hand, has a 6.58" 120HZ IPS LCD and a larger 6,000mAh battery (44W charging), which you might prefer. The 8/128GB model of the Nord 2T went on sale earlier this week for €400. The vivo T2x will be available on June 6th. What are your thoughts on the Oppo Reno8 series – has Oppo nailed it, or are you drawn to other mid-rangers?Oppo unveiled the Reno8 series earlier this week, which includes three new chipsets.
