RedmiBook Pro 2022 Ryzen edition laptops with 6000H CPUs have been announced in 14" and 15.6" sizes.

Xiaomi upgraded the RedmiBook Pro 15 laptop to Intel's 12th generation processors in March, and now it's time for the Ryzen version to get a new CPU. The options are the same as last year, but one generation ahead: the base model comes with a Ryzen 6600H processor, but you can upgrade to a Ryzen 6800H. If you desire, you can also get an Nvidia GPU. The 14-inch variant was also updated, with the same processors but no GPU option.

The Ryzen 6600H is a 45W processor with a built-in AMD 660M GPU (6 compute units) and a 6-core/12-thread architecture (6nm TSMC). The GPU is based on the RDNA 2 architecture, which provides considerably better performance than prior Ryzen generations' Vega GPUs.

The Ryzen 6800H option boosts the core count to 8 cores/16 threads and doubles the GPU compute units to 12 (680M), all while increasing the clock speed from 1.9GHz to 2.2GHz. This is also a 45W component. Two fans will keep your processor cool, regardless of which one you choose.

Xiaomi chose LPDDR5 (6,400MHz) as the memory type, with 16GB being the only choice. You get a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD for storage, with no other options.

One thing you may decide is whether or not you want an additional GPU. The same Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 is available, which was also used in the Intel version of this laptop. It has a total of 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

The display is a 15.6" panel with a resolution of 3,200 x 2,000 pixels. It has a 90Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage, as well as flawless calibration (deltaE 1.5). It has a maximum brightness of 400 nits and includes DC dimming as well as a light sensor that adjusts the brightness automatically.

The laptop's body is made of aluminium alloy and measures 14.9mm thick. It is CNC machined before being sandblasted for a matte finish. A 72Wh battery is housed inside, with an usual usage time of up to 14 hours.

A Thunderbolt 4 port, USB-C (3.2 Gen 2) and USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) ports, HDMI 2.0, and a headphone jack round out the connectivity options. Wi-Fi 6 is available on the wireless front (ax). There's also an SD card reader on board (UHS-II). Finally, there is backlighting on the keyboard.

The 6600H processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB storage in the RedmiBook Pro 15 2022 Ryzen model cost at CNY 5,500 ($820/€770/64,000). It is already available for pre-order on mi.com in China, with sales beginning on May 31. (Tuesday). Note that if you pay a CNY 100 deposit immediately, Xiaomi will deduct CNY 900 from the pricing, bringing the starting price to CNY 4,700 ($700/€660/54,500).

The 6800H processor costs CNY 6,100 (there are no other RAM/storage options, as previously stated). The RTX 2050 comes in two flavours: one with a 6600H CPU (CNY 6,700) and another with a 6800H processor (CNY 6,800). (CNY 7,300).

This laptop also has a Ryzen 6600H or 6800H processor with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage (LPDDR5 6,400Mhz and PCIe 4.0). However, there is no option for an extra GPU, so you're stuck with the on-board RNDA 2 graphics. This model comes with a 56WHr battery that can last for up to 10 hours.

The 14-inch display maintains the same high-quality standards as the previous model: 100 percent sRGB, deltaE 1.5, and DC dimming. If you don't like the automatic brightness, press Fn+S to turn it off.

Although the resolution is reduced to 2.5K, the refresh rate is increased to 120Hz. Unfortunately, even the 680M GPU will struggle to maintain 120 frames per second in new games.

In China, the RedmiBook Pro 14 2022 Ryzen Edition is also available for pre-order. CNY 5,300 ($790/€740/61,500) is the price of the Ryzen 6600H variant. CNY 5,900 for the 6800H variant. The same deal applies: a CNY 100 deposit secures a spot in line and a CNY 900 discount, making the base model CNY 4,500 ($670/€630/52,100).
