OPPO eventually introduced its first foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N, in the Chinese market last year, following years of development. A few days after its debut, the smartphone went on sale for 7,699 yuan ($1,164).

According to a fresh source from China, OPPO is planning to release another foldable smartphone, but this time with a clamshell folding design.

OPPO appears to be following Samsung's lead, which initially introduced the Galaxy Z Fold lineup of book-style folding phones, followed by the Galaxy Z Flip lineup of clamshell foldable smartphones.

Other manufacturers have introduced clamshell folding smartphones. Huawei recently released the Huawei P50 Pocket, a similar folding smartphone. The Moto Razr smartphone was Motorola's first foray into this market.

According to rumours, OPPO's next foldable smartphone would be more cheap than its Chinese competitors. It is expected to be available in China for roughly 5,000 yuan ($755). In instance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 costs 7,399 yuan ($1,118) in China.

Apart from the chipset, which is rumoured to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, the phone's specifications are unknown. In that case, we anticipate the phone's release in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
