After years of research, OPPO eventually introduced its first foldable smartphone, the OPPO Find N, in the Chinese market last year. A few days after its debut, the smartphone went on sale for 7,699 yuan ($1,164).

According to a fresh source from China, OPPO is planning to release another foldable smartphone, but this time it will have a clamshell folding style.

OPPO looks to be following in the footsteps of Samsung, which initially introduced book-style folding phones in the shape of the Galaxy Z Fold family, followed by a comparatively cheaper clamshell foldable smartphone in the form of the Galaxy Z Flip lineup.

Other companies have also released clamshell foldable cellphones. Huawei just released a foldable smartphone called the Huawei P50 Pocket. Motorola made their debut in this market with the Moto Razr smartphone.

According to rumours, OPPO's next foldable smartphone would be more cheap than its Chinese competitors. It is expected to be on sale in China for roughly 5,000 yuan ($755). In instance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 costs 7,399 yuan ($1,118) in China.

Apart from the processor, which is rumored to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, the phone's specifications remain unknown. In that situation, we anticipate that the phone will be released in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
