Oppo has begun pushing out the stable version of ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 to the Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 in India and Vietnam after releasing beta builds last month. However, it appears that if customers want to obtain the stable ColorOS12 upgrade during the initial deployment, they must submit an application.
The ColorOS 12 official update is now available for the Oppo F17 in India and the Oppo A73 in Vietnam, according to an Oppo community post. According to the post, the update is still in its early stages and will be issued in batches.
If your device is eligible, go to the Software Updates section in Settings to download the ColorOS 12 update. Tap the settings kebab menu in the top right corner of the Software Updates area to see an opportunity to register for the update. ColorOS 12 will be delivered to you via OTA update after you submit the application.
If the application quota is reached, you will have to wait for the next phase of rollout. Before you apply for the update, read these "must-knows":
- Please backup important data on the phone before updating to avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other unforeseen circumstances.
- After updating to the latest version, the operating system will do several actions to optimize your device automatically. It might lead to your device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining. We recommend you turn off the screen and charge your device for a whole night after its updated success. Or keep using the device and it will become normal within a few days.
- Some third-party applications are not compatible with Android 12. Therefore, updating these applications might not be available or have technical issues including lagging and crashing down on your device.
