In India, an OTA upgrade will provide the stable Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 build to the OnePlus Nord. A build for Europe is also in the works, according to the Shenzhen-based business, and will be published soon. This update includes the Android security patch for April 2022, as well as several fixes and enhancements. WorkLife Balance, HyperBoost, Smart Battery Engine, and other new features are also included. This update was first rolled out to a select number of customers on May 13 and is now being gradually rolled out to the rest of the user population.

In April, OnePlus announced an OxygenOS 12 open beta for the OnePlus Nord in India. The OxygenOS 12 stable release for the smartphone, bearing the firmware version AC2001 11.F.11, is now rolling out incrementally, which means it will start with a small number of users before being made available to all, according to a post on the company's official forum. The smartphone now has Android 12 installed. To summarise, the OnePlus Nord was released in July 2020 with OxygenOS 10.5, which is based on Android 10.

The Smart Battery Engine is added to the OnePlus Nord with this update, which is said to boost battery life. With enhanced graphics, desktop icons have been optimised. Three levels of adjustment are now available in Dark mode. It also includes the WorkLife Balance feature, which switches between Work and Life modes automatically based on your location, Wi-Fi network, and time. The Canvas AOD has been updated to include new line and brush styles. A new layout has been added to the Gallery. This version introduces a voice effect preview option and the HyperBoost frame rate stabiliser for gaming.

With this OxygenOS 12 upgrade, several known OnePlus Nord bugs have been resolved. The issues with the Do Not Disturb options appear to have been rectified. It is also stated to resolve an issue that prevented an installed app from displaying when the complete name was typed into the search box. Other issues with aberrant sound, the 'Ok Google' voice command, and Chrome are said to have been resolved as well.

While installing this update, OnePlus Nord users in India should ensure that their phones have at least 30% battery life and over 3GB of free storage.
