Maimang, Huawei's erstwhile exclusive sub-brand, is currently in the hands of China Telecom, the country's largest telecoms firm. Following the unification of the brand with its new parent company, Maimang has introduced the Maimang 11 5G today, a new 5G smartphone from the brand featuring a massive 6.75-inch 90Hz display and a massive 6,000mAh battery.

The Maimang 11 5G is powered by MediaTek's entry-level Dimensity 700 chipset, which has already been seen in several other 5G budget market smartphones such as the Poco M3 Pro 5G, Vivo Y76 5G, and Poco M4 5G. It also has a hefty 8GB of RAM and is available with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

According to the advertising promotions, the Maimang 11 5G's standout feature is its massive 6,000mAh battery. The smartphone boasts that users can watch up to 5 hours of video playback with a 15-minute charge, and when combined with the device's aggressive battery management, China Telecom offers the Maimang 11 5G as being able to survive the whole week with only two full charges.

In terms of charging, the Maimang 11 5G supports 22.5W fast wired USB-C charging, which is very archaic in contrast to today's smartphones, but given the device's 6,000mAh capacity, an overnight charge should last you at least a day. Speaking of large batteries, China Telecom has allowed 12W reverse wired charging on the smartphone, allowing the Maimang 11 5G to function as a power bank to charge other electrical devices such as Bluetooth earphones in an emergency.

The Maimang 11 5G display is huge, featuring a big 6.75-inch 90Hz LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. A huge screen with loudspeakers, along with the company's boast of 86dB SuperSound in its promotional materials, would ensure your multimedia experience is available at all times.

The Maimang 11 5G also has a dual 48MP main + 2MP depth sensor camera combination at the back, an 8MP selfie camera at the front, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone port.

The Maimang 11 5G will be available in three colors: Winter White, Starry Blue, and Shadow Black, and will be on sale in China on May 17th. It is officially priced as follows:

  • 1799 RMB for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM (268 USD)
  • 1999 RMB for 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM (298 USD)
