Qualcomm has announced that a fresh launch event will take place in China on May 20th. While no specifics regarding the event have been released, Qualcomm is likely to announce its latest Snapdragon processor series.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus are two new smartphone chipsets that are expected to be announced.

The Snapdragon 7-series CPU will be the first to use Qualcomm's new naming scheme, which was adopted last year when the company debuted the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

The next Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will feature ARM Cortex A710 and Cortex A510 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 1.8GHz, respectively, according to rumours and leaks. It will also be equipped with an Adreno 662 GPU.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, on the other hand, is an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, as the name suggests. It is constructed using TSMC's 4nm process rather than Samsung's 4nm process.

According to previous reports, the chipset will have a 1 + 3 + 4 core design, with a Cortex X2 prime core running at 2.99GHz. Three Cortex A710 cores and four Cortex A510 cores are also believed to be included.
