Huawei debuted the MatePad SE tablet in China a few days ago, with the Mate Xs 2 foldable smartphone, as a more inexpensive version of the company's MatePad-series tablet portfolio.
The Huawei MatePad SE, which was just released in China, is now available for purchase. The Wi-Fi variant, which has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, costs 1,499 yuan ($225).
There's also a cellular-enabled variant of the tablet with the identical memory combination of 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that costs 1,699 yuan ($255).
The Huawei MatePad SE comes with a 10.1-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel screen resolution and an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. The handset is powered by the company's proprietary Kirin 710 chipset under the hood.
The octa-core processor features four 2.0GHz Cortex-A73 cores, four 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores, and a Mali G51 GPU. 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage are included.
Dual-channel speakers are included, as well as support for Histen 7.0 Sound. A 5-megapixel camera sensor on the rear panel and a 2-megapixel snapper on the front panel are available for selfies and video calls.
In terms of software, the Huawei MatePad SE runs the company's own HarmonyOS 2, which includes features like smart multi-window and capabilities like vision, hyper terminal, and smooth call, among others. A 5,100mAh battery powers both models of the tablet.
