Google Pixel 6a was unveiled on Wednesday at Google I/O, the company's annual developer conference. The smartphone is powered by Tensor, the company's own CPU, and a Titan M2 security coprocessor, together with 6GB of RAM. The Google Pixel 6a features a 6.1-inch display with always-on functionality. It has a 12.2-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is said to have a battery life of more than 24 hours and up to 72 hours with the inbuilt extreme battery conservation mode. The Pixel 6a, which is less expensive than the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, will also receive at least five years of security upgrades, according to Google.

Meanwhile, Google teased the design of its future Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones, which will be available later this year and will include the latest iteration of its Tensor SoC, an aluminum camera module, and Android 13. The business also stated that it is developing a Pixel-branded tablet that would be powered by Google's chipset and will be available in 2023.

Google Pixel 6a pricing, availability


The Google Pixel 6a costs $449. (roughly Rs. 34,800). According to the firm, the smartphone will be available for pre-order in the United States on July 21 in the colors Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage. The Google Pixel 6a's pricing and availability in additional regions, including India, have yet to be announced. However, Google has announced that the Pixel 6a will be available in India later this year.

The Google Pixel 6a ships with Android 12 with a 6.1-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixel) OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a refresh rate of 60Hz. It is equipped with an octa-core Google Tensor SoC and a Titan M2 security coprocessor, as well as 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

The Google Pixel 6a has a dual rear camera configuration for photographs and movies, with a 12.2-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture lens and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens. The Google Pixel 6a has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies and video chats. The back camera can record 4K video.

The Google Pixel 6a has 128GB of internal storage. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C connector are among the connectivity choices. An accelerometer, ambient light, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are included, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric verification. The Pixel 6a sports a 4,410mAh battery with quick charging capabilities from Google.

Pixel 7 series, Pixel tablet teased


The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro — the company's forthcoming flagship smartphones slated to come later this year — were also previewed at the Google I/O keynote event. The devices will be powered by Google's Tensor SoC and will ship with Android 13 out of the box.



Google also teased the smartphone's appearance, including the bar-shaped back camera module, which will be comprised of aluminum rather than glass, as is the case with the current Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models. 






The Pixel 7 will include a twin camera arrangement for images and movies, while the Pixel 7 Pro will have a triple rear camera setup. Along with the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the firm said that it is working on an Android-powered tablet that would be released in 2023. Rick Osterloh, Google's Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, said that the tablet will be powered by a Tensor SoC. Other tablet specifics are anticipated to be published in the following months.
