The Axon 40 series of flagship phones is being developed by ZTE. According to a recent source, the Chinese maker may reveal the Axon 40 in China on May 9. The Axon 40 featuring an under-display camera was teased earlier this month. Now, a Chinese source has revealed a leaked image of the phone, showcasing its stunning front design.

The ZTE Axon 40 leaked image released by tipster Bald is Panda suggests that smartphone would have an extraordinarily curved display. The device's top bezel is very narrow. In the previously released ZTE phones with an under-display camera, such as the Axon 20 5G and Axon 30 5G, the company lowered the pixel density of the display area above the camera compared to the rest of the screen. The leaked image shows that the Axon 40 5G’s under-display camera is almost invisible.

ZTE Axon 40 specifications (rumored)

According to rumors, the Axon 40's pixel density above the under-screen camera will be similar to Full HD quality. It is also believed that the screen would enable pixel-width modulation (PWM) dimming.

The rumored Axon 40 is said to include a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It will most likely run the Android 12 operating system and the MiFavor UI. It will include a 44-megapixel camera built into the display. The phone's rear panel would include a triple camera unit with 64-megapixel, 8-megapixel, and 5-megapixel resolution.

The Axon 40 will be equipped with a 3.2GHz octa-core processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The smartphone will include a 5,000mAh battery with 65W quick charging capabilities.
