Following the announcement that WhatsApp is working on processing business orders directly within chat threads, WhatsApp is now enabling certain iOS beta testers to set up cover images to boost their business profile.
We mentioned two months ago that WhatsApp was working on cover photographs that could be set up directly within our business profile. After releasing the latest WhatsApp Business beta for iOS 22.9.0.70 via the TestFlight beta program, WhatsApp is now allowing certain beta testers to change cover photographs!
Following the installation of the new version, certain beta users may see a notification in their conversations list notifying them that it is now able to improve their company profile by adding a cover photo. When a user adds a cover photo to their business profile by pressing "Tap to add now" (or inside their business profile), the cover photo appears every time other WhatsApp accounts view the business's conversation details. The option to see and set up a cover photo is now available exclusively on WhatsApp Business beta for iOS, and the capability will be handed out to Android beta users in the future. We learned that the cover photo size is 1211681 after trying the function.
It is important to note that in order to view cover photographs, the functionality must be enabled on your account; this is why you do not see cover photos when you browse business information (especially on WhatsApp beta for Android, where the feature is not available yet). Furthermore, WhatsApp does not intend to distribute cover photographs for ordinary WhatsApp accounts, therefore this is a WhatsApp Business-only function.
This functionality was made available to certain beta testers today, with additional activations expected for the future.
