WhatsApp has released a new update via the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the app's version number up to 2.22.9.4.
What's new in this version? Message responses are now being rolled out to certain beta users on WhatsApp! Some lucky users were allowed to send reactions on WhatsApp after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.3 update, however it was only a short test for a few users and was discontinued after a few days. There's some good news today: WhatsApp is reintroducing message responses!
To see if the option to react to messages is accessible for your WhatsApp account, long-press a message: if message reactions are available for your WhatsApp account, a reaction bar appears. If you have the ability to respond to messages, you can select from six different emojis: Like, Love, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Thanks. You can only use one emoji to respond to messages, and you can check who replied to a certain message by tapping the emoji reaction. Unfortunately, things look to be delayed even now, so just a few lucky beta testers are able to respond to messages today.
If the function isn't available for your WhatsApp account, it's because it hasn't been released yet. WhatsApp is now allowing users to feature to some beta testers, but more activations are planned for the future.
