None of the Chinese tech behemoths, including Realme, Oppo, and Huawei, have been able to match the execution of Xiaomi's IoT Smart Home Ecosystem, also known as the MIJIA ecosystem. Many Smart Home IoT equipment are included in the ecosystem, including color-changing LED light bulbs, security cameras, rice cookers, and even washing machines.
Xiaomi's latest addition to its linked smart home ecosystem is the Xiaomi Wireless Bluetooth Power Switch, which is available in China for 69 RMB (11 USD) and may significantly improve the convenience of your smart home setup.
To begin, the Xiaomi Wireless Power Switch has a matte white beige finish and two huge rectangular buttons on the left and right.
Users can configure the buttons with customisable functions via the Xiaomi Home app, such as turning on the Bluetooth-connected Mijia LED lights, turning on the Xiaomi Rice Cooker, or activating Xiaoai, Xiaomi's smart assistant integrated into its smart speakers to listen to your commands, with a single button press from across the room.
The power switch may also be configured to activate up to 7 functions at once, with varied activation techniques such as a single push on the left or right button, a double press on each button, or a long press on each button. In terms of battery life, the Xiaomi Wireless Power Switch has an integrated battery that Xiaomi claims may last up to 3 years. The three years of battery life were achieved through internal durability tests in which researchers assumed that one's daily button-pressing consisted of five single-presses, five double-presses, and five long-presses. Xiaomi claims that they developed the power switch so that consumers could install it anywhere they wanted. Whether it is a kitchen countertop, a living room workstation, or a wall-mounted power outlet, the design of the power outlet is important.
