In the United States, Samsung has established a self-service repair scheme. It will enable Samsung Galaxy smartphone customers to fix their devices themselves using parts and guidance given by the South Korean technology firm. According to Samsung, this is an important step in "creating additional methods for people to prolong the lifespa" of its goods. For this programme, the firm is cooperating with iFixit, an online repair community. It should be noted that Samsung already has a large network of same-day service in the United States, as well as in-person service within an hour's drive in some areas.
According to a blog post by Samsung, the self-repair technology will initially be available for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet. Samsung has not provided a precise date but has stated that the initiative would begin "this summer." Customers will have access to actual device components, repair equipment, and simple, visual step-by-step repair instructions. Samsung stated that it is working on this application alongside iFixit.
Additionally, users of the Galaxy S20 and S21 series smartphones will be able to replace display assembly, back glass, and charging connections. The discarded parts may be recycled responsibly by returning them to "Samsung." Self-repair will be expanded to other gadgets in the future, according to the South Korean business. In the United States, Samsung already provides same-day service as well as "We Come To You Vans" in-person service.
In the meantime, the Samsung Galaxy A72 in Russia is apparently receiving a software upgrade with firmware version A725FXXU4BVC1.
