The premium smartphone from Samsung's Galaxy S22 series has proven to be one of the company's best-sellers. The inclusion of Smart Widgets, which users can swipe through, is one of the smartest features that distinguishes the Samsung Galaxy S22 from previous versions. Now, it looks that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer will introduce the swipeable Smart Widgets to all tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. For a long time, these Smart Widgets were only available on the most recent One UI 4.1 phones, before Samsung chose to include them on its Galaxy tablets, including the Tab S8.
According to 9to5Google, the feature is presently being rolled out to Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 owners. The Smart Widget is accessible in the Widgets list for a handful of these tablets that are running the March security patch, which was issued on April 15. These widgets come in three sizes: 2x2, 4x1, and 4x2. While the lowest dimension of the 2x2 widget is not resizable, the other two widgets may be resized to fill the whole width of the screen.
Long-press on a grouping to obtain quick access to the current widget's customization settings. Aside from altering the size, the user may also delete or add widgets. This allows consumers to choose which applications they wish to install on their phones or tablets. Smart Widgets for Android, like Apple's stackable widgets, allow users to pick and combine many widgets into one, accessible with a single swipe.
Long pressing also gives the user the choice to uninstall the entire smart widget or go into Settings, where they may switch to full screen mode and toggle 'Auto rotate widgets' on and off.
If you've used Smart Widget on the Samsung Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S22, you'll be able to use it on the tablets because the functionality is comparable. Widgets may be cycled through by swiping left or right. The ability to slide widgets was apparently implemented with the mid-April update and is presently only available on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. We've reached out to the corporation for comment on the rollout and will update this area as soon as we receive a response.
