LG shut down its smartphone business last year, but the firm committed to continue providing software updates and support services to its smartphone consumers for some time.

Keeping its word, the firm has now disclosed a list of devices in the South Korean market that will receive the latest Android 12 upgrade.

LG has disclosed that the Android 12 upgrade will be available for the Q92 5G, V50 ThinQ, and V50S ThinQ smartphones in the second quarter of this year, while the LG Q52, LG Valvet, and LG Wing devices will receive security updates.

The LG V60 smartphone is not on the list of devices due to receive the latest version, but because it was not introduced in the South Korean market, it is not on the list for upgrades in South Korea.

The business is keen not to leave its consumers hanging, therefore it has also disclosed that the LG Wing and LG Valvet smartphones will receive the next major operating system upgrade — Android 13, which is slated to be released in Q3 of this year.

LG announced and delivered the Android 12 upgrade for the Valvet smartphone last month, making it the brand's first phone to run the current Android 12 operating system. Although the corporation did not have a strong track record when it came to software upgrades in the past, things appear to be changing today.
