Huawei is rumored to be working on the Huawei Mate X3, which will be the successor to the Huawei Mate X2. There have been numerous leaks regarding the Huawei Mate X3's specifications and launch date, with some revealing that the folding phone will be released in the last weeks of April. However, a recent post surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo gives us some interesting insights about the Huawei Mate X3's Processor.
Huawei was one of the first firms to develop the concept of folding phones, but after being banned and sanctioned by the US in 2019 for spying claims, it lost the majority of its market share to Samsung and other smartphone brands. The restrictions put Huawei on the defensive by prohibiting it from utilizing Google or 5G connection on its smartphones.
Huawei Mate X3’s Processor
Previous leaks showed that the Huawei Mate X3 would be powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 9000 4G processor. However, a Chinese Tipster claims that the Huawei Mate X3 will also be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G version. This suggests that the Huawei Mate X3 might be released in a variety of CPU configurations.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G SoC is a high-end SoC that has one Prime Core based on an ARM Cortex-X1 architecture and clocks at 2.84 GHz. It contains three additional performance cores based on the A78 and clocked at up to 2.42 GHz. The Snapdragon 888 4G is undoubtedly a fast CPU, but it only has a 4G LTE modem, which is quite old given that other smartphone manufacturers have already migrated to a 5G modem.
The Huawei Mate X3 is said to run Harmony OS 2.0.1 and have a 4500 mAh battery that supports 66W rapid charging. It is likely to have a better hinge and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. With the model number PAL-AL00, this innovative foldable phone has also received TENAA certification.
It should be emphasized that Huawei has not publicly acknowledged any of these information. Huawei has yet to make a formal announcement about the Huawei Mate X3, but the TENNA listing shows that the Folding phone will be available shortly. It will be fascinating to see what features this phone offers.
