On Thursday, the Honor Play 6T and Honor Play 6T Pro were unveiled in China during a live event held by the business. The new Honor smartphones have 90Hz refresh rate TFT LCD panels. The 5G-enabled octa-core MediaTek Dimensity chipsets power both versions. The Honor Play 6T has a triple back camera arrangement lead by a 13-megapixel primary sensor, whilst the Honor Play 6T Pro has a twin rear camera unit led by a 48-megapixel primary sensor. Both smartphones have up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Honor Play 6T and Honor Play 6T Pro price, availability
The Honor Play 6T starts at CNY 1,199 (about Rs. 14,200) for the basic 8GB+128GB storage model. The phone is also available in an 8GB + 256GB storage option for CNY 1,399. (roughly Rs. 16,600).
The Honor Play 6T Pro, on the other hand, costs CNY 1,599 (about Rs. 19,000) for the 8GB + 256GB option. At the time of writing, the price of the 8GB + 128GB storage variant was not posted on the corporate website. The Honor Play 6T is available in Titanium Empty Silver, Magic Night Black, and Rose Gold colors, while the Honor Play 6T Pro is available in Titanium Empty Silver, Magic Night Black, and Charm Sea Blue.
Both Honor smartphones are now available for pre-order in China through the Honor Mall website. It will be available later this month.
Honor Play 6T specifications
The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor Play 6T runs Magic UI 5.0, which is based on Android 11. The new Honor phone has a 6.74-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1,600x720 pixels, a screen aspect ratio of 20:9, and a refresh rate of 90Hz. TUV Rheinland has also approved the screen for minimal blue light. The Honor Play 6T is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, Mali-G57 GPU, and up to 8GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, the Honor Play 6T has a triple rear camera arrangement that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Honor has included a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies. Portrait mode, as well as night scene mode, super macro mode, panoramic, HDR, filter, smile capture, voice-activated photo, timed photo, and AI photography, are supported by the back camera. The phone has up to 256GB of internal storage that can be upgraded with a microSD card.
5G, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, OTG, GLONASS, a USB Type-C connector, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are among the connectivity choices on the Honor Play 6T. An ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, compass, and proximity light sensor are among the sensors aboard. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the side for authentication. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging capabilities. It has dimensions of 167.59x8.62x77.9mm and weighs around 198 grams with the battery.
Honor Play 6T Pro specifications
The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor Play 6T Pro, like the vanilla variant, is powered by Android 11 and Magic UI 5.0. It has a 6.7-inch TFT LCD display (2,388x1,080 pixels). The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 CPU, Mali-G57 GPU, and 8GB of RAM.
The Honor Play 6T Pro comes with a dual back camera setup headlined by a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. A 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture is also included in the camera unit. The phone sports an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chats. AI photography, time-lapse photography, dual-view video, night scene mode, portrait mode, panoramic, voice-activated photography, and many other features are supported by the back camera. The selfie camera supports 2D face recognition. As mentioned, Honor Play 6T offers a maximum of 256GB of storage.
Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, AGPS, OTG, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port are among the connectivity choices for the Honor Play 6T Pro. An ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, compass, and proximity light sensor are among the sensors on board. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the side. The phone has a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging capabilities. With the battery, the phone measures 163.4x7.45x74.7mm and weighs 175 grams.
