Google has launched the Android April 2022 update for Pixel smartphones running Android 12. The distribution will occur gradually over the next few weeks, with consumers receiving notifications whenever the firmware update for their cellphones is available. The April 2022 update is expected to increase wireless charging performance. It also contains a number of camera and user interface issue fixes. This update will be available for the Pixel 6 series of smartphones, as well as other compatible devices up to the Pixel 3a XL.

Google released the latest firmware upgrade in an official support page. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are getting a firmware upgrade with the version SP2A.220405.004. Other eligible Pixel devices, however, such as the Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a 5G, are receiving the software version SP2A.220405.003.

Google has improved wireless charging performance with some gadgets with the April 2022 release. The problem that was causing the front-facing camera preview for some apps to look zoomed-in has been resolved. In addition, the appearance of a green screen in the camera preview has been corrected. The most adjustments and enhancements have been made to the System UI, including the crash that was happening while running applications in picture-in-picture mode. Users should now be able to put up certain live wallpapers without encountering an error message. After changing wallpaper, the notification shade and Quick Settings will not become temporarily invisible.

Cancelling a search in the app drawer does not always result in improper animations. While TalkBack is enabled, Pixel users will be able to explore the overview screen without experiencing any unexpected complications. Google has also fixed an issue that prevented the 'Recents' button from appearing when using three-button navigation with third-party launchers.
