A fresh rumor about the Apple iPhone 14 series has emerged. According to reports, the company's newest generation of smartphones, which will be released later this year, will have satellite connectivity choices for emergency situations. We even reported recently that the Cupertino-based company was working on a similar satellite capability for its Apple Watch. The main rationale for including this system is to allow users to send messages or contact emergency services in the event of a real emergency. This system will purportedly contain a "Emergency Message through Contacts" feature for delivering brief messages in regions where cellular services are unavailable.
In other words, it indicates that the company intends to include this functionality into its other goods as well. Surprisingly, the iPhone 13 series was also supposed to include similar technology, yet this was omitted on the 2021 iPhone. As a result, it's highly feasible that this functionality will not exist on the iPhone 14 series as well. However, Mark Gurman's most recent news suggests otherwise.
Users would be able to send text messages or SOS answers over a satellite network to report incidents, similar to the feature on the brand's wristwatch. Overall, this will be extremely beneficial to Apple consumers who find themselves in certain worst-case circumstances, and may even save lives.
