Dell Technologies introduced the Alienware x14 and Alienware m15 R7 gaming laptops in India on Monday. Both new laptops are powered by Intel Core H-series CPUs and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs from the 12th generation. Alienware's own cooling technology, Cryo-Tech, is also included in the gaming laptops. The main difference between the two is that the Alienware X14 has a 14-inch display, and the Alienware m15 R7 has a 15.6-inch screen. Other notable features of the Alienware X14 and Alienware m15 R7 laptops include Dolby Vision certification, RGB-backlit keyboards, and Dolby Atmos-enabled spatial audio.
Alienware x14, Alienware m15 R7 price in India
The Alienware x14 starts at Rs. 1,69,990 in India, while the Alienware m15 R7 starts at Rs. 1,64,990. Both laptops are available for purchase in the United States through Dell.com, Dell exclusive locations, big format retail, and multi-brand retailers.
The Alienware x14 and Alienware m15 R7 were initially announced in January at CES 2022.
Alienware x14 specifications
The Alienware x14 is a 14-inch full-HD (1,920x1,080 pixels) display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Nvidia G-Sync certification, and 400nit brightness that runs Windows 11 Home (also available with Windows 11 Pro). The screen is touted to be capable of displaying the whole DCI-P3 color range. The Alienware x14 is powered by an Intel Core i5-12500H or Intel Core i7-12700H processor, as well as up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with 6GB of GDDR6 memory. In addition, the laptop comes with up to 32GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
The Alienware x14, unlike other laptops in its class, has a characteristic hinge that slides forward and backward on a track utilizing two torque components. A illuminated keyboard with an array of LEDs is also included with the laptop. The keyboard keys travel 1.2mm, and the touchpad accepts multi-touch input.
Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an HDMI 2.1 port, one USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) port, two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 and Power Delivery compatibility, a USB Type-C port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm headphone jack round out the connectivity options on the Alienware x14. An Alienware HD camera with dual-array mics is also available.
The Alienware x14 comes with an 80Whr battery and a 130W GaN FET converter for quick charging. On a single charge, the battery is rated to provide up to 7 hours, 44 minutes of usage or up to 11 hours, 18 minutes of HD video playing. The laptop's dimensions are 321.5x262.77x14.5mm, and it weighs up to 1.84kg.
Alienware m15 R7 specifications
The Alienware m15 R7 also comes with Windows 11 or Windows 11 Pro and includes a 15.6-inch display with full-HD (1,920x1,080 pixels) resolution and a refresh rate of up to 360Hz, or a QHD (2,560x1,440 pixels) panel with a refresh rate of 240Hz. The laptop features an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU, up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, and up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM. There are dual and single storage choices available, with the former having a capacity of up to 4TB and the latter having a capacity of up to 2TB.
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are the wireless connectivity choices for the Alienware m15 R7. A USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) port, another USB-A (3.2 Gen 1) port with PowerShare compatibility, a USB Type-C connector with Thunderbolt 4, Power Delivery, and DisplayPort 1.4, a USB Type-C port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4, and an HDMI 2.1 port round out the connectivity options. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack on the laptop.
The Alienware m15 R7 is available with a CherryMX mechanical keyboard with per-key AlienFX illumination and 1.8mm key travel. The laptop also includes an HD camera with dual-array microphones and optional Windows Hello IR compatibility.
In regards of battery life, the Alienware m15 R7 comes with two options: 56Whr and 86Whr. It also comes with a 180W standard or 240W optional GaN FET adaptor. This laptop has dimensions of 356.2x272.5x20.6mm and weighs between 2.42 and 2.69kg depending on the features you select.
