Although adoption rates of Wi-Fi 6 and 6E are still low in 2022, ZTE has already gotten ahead of the game by introducing Wi-Fi 7, a faster consumer-ready internet solution, at its MWC Convention this year.

The ZTE MC888 Flagship, the world's first Wi-Fi 7 consumer-ready product, will be unveiled at MWC 2022. The MC888 Flagship is a Wi-Fi 7 5G CPE device that receives cellular data such as 4G LTE/5G and converts it into WiFi signals for customers to connect to. CPEs are typically found in hospitals, factories, and towns, where they save the cost and difficulty of establishing fibre optic lines.

Returning to the ZTE MC888 Flagship's highlights. The gadget is equipped with ZTE's smart antenna X technology, which supports worldwide sub6 and mmWave frequency bands. This technology has the highest antenna gain in the market, exceeding 10dBi. The MC888 Flagship is notable for using the world's first auxiliary antenna technology to deliver high-power mmW antenna transmission. You can also observe network signal changes in real time on the router's LED panel, as the device rotates, tracks, and locks the mmWave signals to attain peak Internet speeds of up to 10Gbps.

The MC888 Flagship now holds the world record for the fastest Wi-Fi 7 solution, with to its support for 2.4GHz/5GHz/6Hz frequency bands and speeds of up to 19GBps when all three bands are used to their full capability. Because the router uses Wi-Fi 7, it contains numerous new Wi-Fi 7 capabilities, such as a 320MHz bandwidth, multi-link operation (MLO), and 4K QAM, allowing 256 people to connect to the Wi-Fi network at incredibly fast and steady speeds. Wi-Fi 7 also provides improved signal coverage, allowing for more people to connect to the network at the same time.

The MC888 Flagship was designed to look like a futuristic outer-space rocket from the outside, according to ZTE. The thrusters used on rockets inspired the design of the top metal ornamental ring. The three sets of color-changing LED strips on the router's sides, together with the futuristic UI interface on the router's circular touch screen, give customers the impression of using industry-leading Internet with industry-leading convenience.

ZTE is hoping that the new appearance would improve the router's immersive experience. At the same time, the MC888 Flagship has the world's fastest 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, which provides a stable 10 Gigabit connection for laptops, Smart TVs, and 8K video streaming, among other things.

ZTE says the Wi-Fi 7 MC888 Flagship will be available by the end of 2022, but expect a greater premium because this is the first generation Wi-Fi 7 device to hit the market.
