The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, the rumoured successor to last year's Mi 11 Ultra, is expected to launch in China in May. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be launched as a premium offering alongside the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X smartphone models that were unveiled in China in December. Earlier reports suggested that the smartphone would be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, an upgraded version of the SoC found in the Xiaomi 12 Pro, and would be powered by a 4,860mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be available in China in May, according to a Pricebaba report quoting tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings). The smartphone will apparently be released in worldwide markets following its first release in China, similar to how the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X were released in China late last year before being released in global markets on March 15. Xiaomi has yet to publicly divulge any information about the smartphone's features or release date.

The phone was discovered on the IMEI database last month with the model number 2206122SC, and it is reported to be known as the Xiaomi L2S — the Xiaomi 12 Pro was nicknamed "L2." The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to be launched with the undisclosed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, which is expected to be a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC for flagship smartphones and will be available in the second half of the year.

According to prior speculations, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra might sport a 6.6-inch 2K AMOLED curved display but may not offer a secondary display like the Mi 11 Ultra. The smartphone is also said to include a Leica-branded back camera system. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also said to come with a 4,860mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging.
