WhatsApp has published a new beta version for iPhone users, which has a darker style that better supports iOS 15. The update comes only a few months after WhatsApp added support for iOS 15 notifications, including Focus mode and the display of group and profile photographs in the Notification Centre. Separately, WhatsApp has released a fresh desktop edition for beta testers, which includes a number of bug improvements. The upgraded WhatsApp for Desktop version corrects the presentation of profile photographs. WhatsApp Web is also expected to include the update made available to PC beta testers.
WhatsApp for iOS beta 22.7.0.76 is now available with a darker appearance, according to WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo. The change is more in line with the UI features of iOS 15.
WABetaInfo has given a screenshot to demonstrate the change, in which the toolbar at the bottom is black rather than grey. The latter is included in the current WhatsApp version, whereas the former is included in the most recent beta release.
More beta testers will be able to see their profile images in alerts as a result of the change. However, the experience was first made available to a limited number of individuals in January.
Furthermore, the most recent WhatsApp for iOS beta version is expected to feature improved compatibility with iOS 15 as well as bug improvements. The beta version, on the other hand, should be obtained exclusively for a secondary account and for testing reasons.
WhatsApp for Desktop beta version 2.2211.3 has been published separately to address the problems that have been identified thus far. One of the flaws included profile and group images that did not display on the conversations screen.
