WhatsApp's desktop client is getting a new update through the official beta channel, bringing it up to version 2.2211.3.
What's new in this version of the game? This is a bug repair update that resolves a profile photo problem.
WhatsApp published a bug fixes update for the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.5 yesterday, and WhatsApp Desktop is getting its turn today. We sent out a tweet a few days ago indicating that some users were having trouble loading their profile photos:
Contacts do not have a profile photo, and group conversations do not have a group symbol, according to this snapshot, however this is a problem. WhatsApp is issuing a bug fixes update for the desktop beta client today, which solves the above-mentioned issue and restores profile photographs at launch. Furthermore, WhatsApp has included the same update in the most recent WhatsApp Desktop stable version, so you don't need to wait for the next stable 2.2211 release or switch to the beta version if you don't use beta versions. Because WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web use the same technology, the patch is also available for WhatsApp Web users. Make sure WhatsApp Desktop is up to date by tapping "Update."
