The vivo X Fold, the company's first foldable smartphone, dubbed 'butterfly' and slated to be released in April. The device's under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint solution has now been revealed after being seen in the subway, displaying its near-crease-free front.

On Weibo today, tech blogger @Feiwei uploaded a photograph of what seems to be the dismantled screens of the vivo X Fold – both the inner and outside ones. Both screens look to contain ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, which Feiwei says as "more sophisticated and easy to operate" than the side-mounted fingerprint sensors used in most other foldables.

The vivo X Fold will compete with the OPPO Find N and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, all of which have side-mounted fingerprint scanners, giving the vivo foldable a competitive advantage.

Furthermore, leakster Digital Chat Station previously stated that the vivo X Fold has punch-holes in both the middle of the outer screen and the centre of the right side of the inner screen. The display will be a Samsung 2K+120Hz E5 LTPO panel with DC dimming capabilities.

It is worth noting that the vivo X Fold has already been certified by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as 3C certification, indicating that its release is close.
