The Vivo X Fold is scheduled to be released in China, and the event might take place this month. The Vivo X Fold's design has been released by prominent tipster account Digital Chat Station, giving us a good sense of what the gadget may look like in real life. The Vivo X Fold will be the Chinese smartphone manufacturer's first foray into the foldable market, competing with more established competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and OPPO Find N, among others.
Vivo X Fold design leaked ahead of launch
The Vivo X Fold, Vivo's first foldable smartphone, might be available in China as early as this month. When it is released, the X Fold will compete with smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, OPPO Find N, the smaller Moto Razr 5G, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Vivo X Fold's design specifications have been revealed in the form of an outline drawing by the tipster account Digital Chat Station ahead of its anticipated China debut.
The Vivo X Fold schematic shows the device's exterior face, including the front face with a cover screen and the rear panel with the camera housing. On the front, there will be a full-screen display with a hole punch cutout placed at the top centre for the front camera sensor. With a slight curve, the screen flows gently onto the right edge.
The round camera housing is housed in a rectangular design piece at the back. The quad-camera configuration, LED flash, and microphone are all housed in the camera housing (s). The edges also have buttons: a set of volume rockers, a power button, and an auxiliary button with an unclear function. The additional button might be a programmable button, a voice assistant button, or a user profile toggle switch. A vertical 'Vivo X Fold' logo may also be found on the rear panel.
The inner face, which is not visible in the leaked schematic drawing, will almost certainly house a bigger display. Both the outer and inner screens are expected to have ultrasonic fingerprint sensors for biometric identification.
Vivo X Fold specifications (expected)
The outside display of the Vivo X Fold is rumoured to feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. The interior display will be a bigger 8-inch panel with a QHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform will be in charge under the hood. However, no information has been provided on RAM and storage configurations.
The X Fold's back quad camera module will have a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom, and an 8MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The smartphone is powered by a 4,600mAh inbuilt battery that supports 80W rapid wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
