Samsung's ferocious update schedule continues globally with the February 2022 security patch.

For a long time, Samsung has been one of the first Android OEMs to deliver monthly security upgrades to their smartphones. While Google was still struggling with December and January fixes for its flagship Pixel 6 series, Samsung was already hard at work, pushing out security upgrades to eligible phones. While we're expecting the Pixel 6 series to receive the February update at the end of next week — and crossing our fingers that it doesn't damage anything en route — Samsung is already pushing out its own February fix.

This time, it appears like the Galaxy Note20 series is on top. According to SamMobile, Note20 Ultra customers in the Netherlands have already received the new firmware update. We haven't seen a changelog from Samsung yet, but we're presumably looking at the usual variety of general security enhancements and bug fixes. As is customary, the update will be progressively carried out to additional areas and should begin to appear on more eligible devices soon. To see if it's available for your device, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The Galaxy Note20 Ultra may be Samsung's greatest phone with a built-in pen to date, but that might change in a matter of days. Even though it is stepping back from the limelight for the time being, frequent security and operating system upgrades are extending its useful life.

The February update should be available in the following weeks for more Samsung flagships and mid-range devices. We'll keep this list up to date as things change.
